VIDEO: Man punches Riverside officer after being hit with Taser; can you ID him?

“Last time, I’m going to Tase you. I’m going to Tase you. Get on the ground.”

This dramatic scene, started with a report that a man stole a 12-pack of beer from Halls Eastwood Market in Riverside. It ended with the suspect repeatedly punching a Riverside officer before running away.

Around 11 p.m. Sept. 9, police responded to Halls Eastwood Market, 4426 Springfield St. in Riverside after clerks reported a man stole a 12-pack of beer and ran toward Harshman Road.

When the officer caught up with a man with beer in hand, the suspect quickly became resistant.

“Where’d you get the beer?” the officer asked.

The officer asks the man to place his hands behind his back to be detained. The man does not comply and struggles with the officer, who uses his Taser twice on the man, before the man is able to stand up and assault the officer.

The video captures the suspect punch the officer multiple times in the head before he takes off toward the Yorktown Colony Apartments.
