A preliminary investigation suggests the driver went left of center after suffering the medical emergency, the police officer said, and that sent the sedan into the side of the semitrailer.
The accident on Central Avenue (state Route 123), in the area of Lantis Drive and Chamberlain Road, was reported about 6:35 p.m. and caused the temporary shutdown of traffic in the area.
Police said the driver of the semitrailer was not injured and the collision caused minimal damage to the trailer.
The names, ages and hometowns of the drivers were not available.
