Celina industrial building fire under investigation

UPDATE @ 5:23 p.m.: The cause of the Celina industrial building fire at Celina Aluminum Precision Technology (CAPT), which started in a ceiling, is under investigation, Celina Fire Chief Doug Wolters said.

Crews were dispatched just before 2 p.m. According to the company’s Website, CAPT was able to remain open. Production and clerical associates were told not to report for second shift.

Wolters gave a very preliminary damage estimate of $50,000. There were no injuries.

FIRST REPORT

Crews are working to put out flames that erupted at an industrial business in the 7000 block of Staeger Road in Celina.

Flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the building in a photo posted at approximately 2:10 p.m. by WCSM Radio.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office sent an advisory out telling residents to avoid the area of Staeger Road between Ohio 29 and Ohio 703.
