City appoints human resource manager to interim city manager

The city of Centerville has named one of their own as their interim city manager, replacing Greg Horn, who served in the role for 25 years.

The city passed a resolution tonight, naming Human Resources Manager and former Assistant to the City Manager Jennifer Wilder as Horn’s temporary replacement.

Horn is scheduled to retire from his position July 5.

According to the resolution, which was passed as a consent agenda item, she will serve as City Manager starting July 6, and will fill that role until city council appoints one.

EARLIER: The city of Centerville is expected to pass a resolution appointing an interim city manager on Monday, according to the city's agenda for that night's meeting.

The city is currently in the midst of replacing Greg Horn, who served in the position for Centerville for 25 years. He’s set to retire July 5.

The city is reviewing resumes from five applicants, submitted to consulting firm Novak Group, with some applicants as close as Kettering and as far away as Richland, Wash.

The resolution is part of the city’s consent agenda, which is usually a list of several items passed at once.

The resolution does not say who will assume the role of interim city manager. We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
