“We have worked with the health department to make sure there is draped, air conditioned area that will be specifically for women who need to breast feed,” said Dean Blair, executive director of the Clark County Fair.

For the first time in fair history, a breastfeeding room will be available in the Annex for breastfeeding mothers to use for the entirety of the fair. The private space will include rocking chairs, a changing table and a handwashing station.
In addition, the Clark County Agricultural Society will provide information to fair-goers on breastfeeding, including the location of private breastfeeding areas, positive promotion of breastfeeding and announcements regarding breastfeeding for the duration of the fair.
“Breastfeeding mothers shall be provided a place to breastfeed or express their milk. Breastfeeding mothers, including society members, vendors and fair patrons can expect a clean and private place to breastfeed their babies or express milk at the Clark County Fair,” a statement from the Clark County Agricultural Society said.

In Ohio, nearly 75% of mothers breastfeed their children. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2018, 81.9% of mothers breastfed, or attempted to breastfeed, their child.
The fair will run through Friday, July 26. Gates will open each day at 8 a.m. with general admission at $6, which includes free parking and admission into all of the concerts. Admission is free for children five and younger.
