Community fills sandbags to help fight flooding in Darke County

The New Madison community came together Saturday in Darke County to fill sandbags to help combat flooding.

New Madison firefighters and EMS, Tri-Village High School football players and community members met at the New Madison city building and Tri-Village field house to fill sandbags.

Several houses in the area flooded due to rain, according to New Madison Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Jerry Holsapple.

The sandbags were placed around the field house and creek bed, according to Holsapple.
