Crews were dispatched to the 2000 block and found heavy smoke coming from one house around 6:25 a.m., per initial reports.
The blaze spread to a neighboring home, damaging the side of the house, officials said.
Both structures are vacant and no injuries were reported.
A fire investigator was requested to determine what caused the fire, though officials believe it started as a debris fire between the two structures before spreading.
