Man suffers burns to hands, arms in Jefferson Twp. house fire

UPDATE @ 7:15 p.m.

The man who suffered burns to his arms and hands in a kitchen fire tonight does not have life-threatening injuries, Trotwood fire Capt. Scott Meyers said.

The fire started in the kitchen.

“We believe  he was cooking,” Meyers said of the victim, described as a man in his 60s or 70s.

No one else was home at the time of the fire.

Damage estimates were not available and the fire is still under investigation, the captain said.

A man in his 60s suffered burns to his hands and arms in a house fire this evening, Trotwood fire officials said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

FIRST REPORT

One person reportedly suffered a burn injury this evening in a possible kitchen fire.

Crews were called around 5:50 p.m. to a single-story home in the 100 block of Maeder Avenue in Jefferson Twp.
