Fire crews were dispatched on a reported fully engulfed garage fire in the 6900 block of Rushleigh Road just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Clayton Fire Chief Brian Garver said a resident smelled smoke coming from the garage, but the structure was well involved in flames by the time fire crews arrived at the scene.
The home also suffered damage after the blaze spread from the garage into the house.
The occupants of the home were able to safely evacuate, but two cats died in the fire. A lizard, also a family pet, was rescued and is expected to survive.
The occupants will receive assistance in finding temporary shelter from the Clayton Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.

Fire crews have responded to a structure fire reported at a home in the 6900 block of Rushleigh Road in Clayton Wednesday morning.
Initial reports indicate the incident started as a well involved garage fire, and has damaged a neighboring home.
There have been no initial reports of injuries.
