Homeowner taken to hospital from house fire in Carlisle

UPDATE @ 11:25 a.m.

The homeowner of a house that caught fire this morning in Carlisle was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, according to Franklin Twp. Fire Lt. Dustin Perry.

The fire caused significant damage to the upper floor of the bi-level home in the 7400 block of Red Robin Street.

The cause remains under investigation.

Perry said it’s believed the homeowner was sleeping when the fire started. He was in stable condition when transported to the hospital, Perry said.

EARLIER

Fire crews are responding to a reported structure fire in Carlisle Sunday morning.

Crews were sent around 7:33 a.m. to the 7400 block of Red Robin Street.

Initial reports indicate heavy smoke and flames can be seen coming from the house.
