Origin of Dayton house fire traced to kitchen; no one injured

UPDATE @ 8:25 p.m.: The house fire on Alvin Avenue was traced to the kitchen, a Dayton fire official said.

No one was home when the fire started; neighbors called 9-1-1, the fire official said.

Damage to the house and contents was estimated to be $5,000, the official said.

No injuries were reported.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are looking for the cause of a house fire in the 3900 block of Alvin Avenue.

Dayton crews were dispatched just after  p.m. on a report of a possible structure fire on Alvin. There was a report of fire showing from the rear of the two-story dwelling.

There are no reports of injury.
