Eaton boy, 9, delivers truck load of toys to Children's Hospital

A 9-year-old Eaton boy delivered a box-truck load full of toys as well as a cash gifts to Dayton Children's Hospital this morning.

Ty Fugate, who is a third-grade student at William Bruce Elementary School in Eaton, started collection the gifts six months ago and people in the community rallied behind him and his efforts by holding fundraisers and donation events, according to Dayton Children's Hospital officials.

Fugate is the son of Amy and Christian Fugate, also of Eaton.

The boy's motivation comes after he had to spend time at Dayton Children's on Christmas Day and he wanted to make the experience a more joyful one for other children who have to do the same this holiday.
