Families of deceased veterans presented with certificate signed by President Obama

SPRINGBORO — The families of veterans memorialized at the funeral home were presented with a memorial certificate signed by President Barack Obama on Sept. 9 during Anderson Funeral Home’s third annual Veterans Memorial Program.

The certificate recognizes honorably discharged deceased veterans.

Funeral home owner Charles Anderson and Springboro Mayor John Agenbroad presented the certificates.

The Rev. Raymond C. Phillips of Stratford Heights Church of God in Middletown led the ceremony in prayer and thought for the sacrifices of veterans as well as those serving in the U. S. military.

Chris Herwick, mother of Staff Sgt. Travis Griffin, killed in Iraq in 2008, spoke about her loss and the perseverance and character of veterans and their families.

Jeff and Linda Roberts and Lila Terry presented the music.
