Fire investigators returned to the scene of a house fire Monday, trying to determine what caused the fire.

Three adults and five children were displaced after a fire Sunday afternoon in the 1100 block of Vine Street.

“It doesn’t appear to be suspicious in nature and is still under investigation right now,” Hamilton Fire Chief Steve Dawson said.

The fire is estimated to have caused more than $75,000 in damage, he said.

The blaze broke out shortly after 3 p.m., and all eight occupants of the home were safely evacuated.

The fire started in a rear bedroom on the first floor of the home and traveled to a second floor bungalow area, according to Dawson.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze pretty quick, he said.

No injuries were reported.
