Fire leads to Great Wolf Lodge evacuation

A small fire today caused an evacuation of guests at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Around 10:30 a.m. a fire started in a first floor room at the indoor water park, located at 2501 Great Wolf Drive, according to Jason Arthur, regional director of aquatics and safety.

Arthur said the room was vacant and had been for about 48 hours. The fire was quickly contained to the room by fire officials from Mason and Deerfield Twp., Arthur said.

The fire is not considered suspicious but the cause remains under investigation, according to Deerfield Twp. fire officials.

The entire facility was evacuated for about 20 minutes while the fire was put out.

Arthur said the extent of the damages have not been determined yet.

“Operations are back to normal,” he said.
