A 31-year-old man brought to Grandview Medical Center told police he was injured during a fireworks incident Tuesday night, a Dayton police report showed.

The victim was brought to the hospital by a friend around 10 p.m. and he had a neck wound.  The injury reportedly happened less than an hour before the victim was brought to the hospital.

A doctor at the hospital questioned whether the injury was actually caused by a firework.

“She told me it would be fireworks, or a gunshot wound, or a knife wound. She wasn’t sure,” police said of the doctor.  “She did tell me there were no burn marks on his neck.”

Police were able to determine that the incident occurred in Harrison Twp., so the investigation was turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the report read.

The victim’s condition was not immediately known Wednesday morning.
