Epley was among 22 residents applicants for the position. He will serve until Dec. 31, 2015 and can seek to run for a full term on the November 2015 ballot.
Epley is a native of Oakwood and graduate of Oakwood High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Denison University and a law degree from the University of Dayton. He owns a law firm.He has also served as an adjunct professor at the UD Law School, assistant prosecutor at the Vandalia Municipal Court and magistrate in the Dayton Municipal Court.
