The public is invited to a free training in Dayton to learn how to administer medication to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Project DAWN will be providing free overdose education and each participant will leave with a prescribed dose of Narcan, also generically known as naloxone.
Participants receive training on recognizing the signs and symptoms of overdose, distinguishing between different types of overdose, performing rescue breathing, calling emergency medical services, and administering intranasal naloxone.
The event hosted by Familes of Addicts will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Life Enrichment Center at 425 N. Findlay St. There is free child care at the event.
