Hamilton man accused of operating meth lab

A 28-year-old Hamilton man is under arrest on charges that he was operating a methamphetamine lab in the 6700 block of Morris Road.

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones said that location is where members of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force found a backpack with an “active meth lab.” The backpack was in a wooded area next to Fairfield East Elementary School.

Jones said Christopher Lee Bevins was arrested after he tried to get to the scene.

Bevins is held in the Butler County Jail. He is charged with a felony count of Manufacturing Methamphetamine and a felony count of Illegal Assembly/Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs.
