A State of Emergency has been issued in the City of Trotwood due to severe damage of storms and suspected tornadoes hit the area Monday night.
Mayor Mary A. McDonald urged residents to remain in a safe location. If your home is not safe, shelter is available at Corinthian Baptist Church at 700 James H. McGee Blvd.
Residents can call the Red Cross at 937-222-6711 or the City of Trotwood at 937-837-7210 for help. In case of an emergency, call 911.
City officials are working with the Red Cross, Trotwood Madison schools, Ohio Task Force , the National Weather Service and local, state and federal agencies to keep Trotwood residents safe.
Door-to-door searches for residents are reportedly under way.
Hara Arena suffered extensive damage when tornadoes and severe storms moved through Monday night.
Drone footage shows the roof and side of the structure blown off in several places.
Trotwood schools are closed, and several homes and businesses have been severely damaged.
