He also attended the University of Toledo where he majored in business management.
Carpenter has more than five years of welding experience. Much of that was gained working in his father’s business, Carpenter Welding, Inc. where he was involved with fabricating exhaust lines, pressure piping, stainless welding for the food industry, aluminum repair work, and various other projects welding to a variety of codes. His father, David Carpenter, is also a graduate of Hobart Institute.
He will be cross-trained to teach all of the skill welding courses at Hobart.
Dustin Sharp, formerly of Michigan, worked with the Sheet Metal Workers International Association for 13 years and completed welding training at Hobart Institute prior to becoming a welding instructor. He is also an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector.
Sharp is teaching skill courses and will eventually move into instruction of technical courses, according to Ron Scott, vice president and general manager of Hobart Institute.
