FIRST REPORT:
A homeless Indianapolis man hopped aboard an eastbound freight train on Wednesday.
More than 150 miles later in Ohio, the train slowed enough that 34-year-old Loren Ross jumped from the locomotive in the Shelby County village of Pemberton.
He suffered head and arm injuries in that jump, and also severe hypothermia.

He laid along the tracks screaming for help until a neighbor discovered him about 90 minutes later.
Tonight, Ross is listed in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
