Indiana to join multi-state Monopoly Millionaires Club game

Indiana is joining a new multi-state lottery game that could create hundreds of millionaires.

Tickets cost $5, and jackpots will be capped at a reported $25 million.The idea is that a single weekly drawing could create dozens and maybe hundreds of millionaires, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.

The Monopoly Millionaires Club will debut Oct. 19 in Indiana. It has a tie-in to the popular Monopoly board game, and will have a television show. Beginning in early 2015, comedian Billy Gardell of "Mike & Molly" fame will also host a weekly hourlong TV show from Las Vegas where additional prizes will be handed out.

Other states on board for the October launch: Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Ohio is expected to join in early 2015, along with Delaware and Virginia.

The Multi-State Lottery Association is a government-benefit nonprofit association that coordinates six multi-state games in the U.S., including Powerball.
