Employers in a wide variety of industries—from logistics and call center operations to insurance and health care – will be looking for employees, according to Sapp. The job fair is open to anyone.
“We just tell them to be prepared to sell yourself,” Sapp said. “We are going to be doing some on-the-spot job interviewing. We have been encouraging people to have their resumes ready.”
The event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at the University of Dayton Arena, 1801 S. Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton. Ohio Means Jobs Montgomery County and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base have partnered for the second time to set up the fair. A spring job fair drew around 1,100 people.
Mark S. Anderson, who handles workforce marketing at Ohio Means Jobs Montgomery County, said certain job sectors are hot in the Dayton region.
“There’s six major industries that are really hitting hard right now,” he said. They include logistics, manufacturing, customer call service and call centers, information technology and health care.
Construction trades have stayed steady, he added.
Employment consultants will give resume tips to job seekers.
Sapp said Wright-Patterson would like to partner with other counties for future job fairs.
Attendees may pre-register and find additional information at www.thejobcenter.org.
