The pizzeria at 5186 Brandt Pike (State Route 201) had continued to operate briefly as a carryout and delivery restaurant after the March 15 statewide order to shut down dine-in service at all Ohio restaurants due to the coronavirus pandemic. But it closed for good on March 20, Williams said.

This restaurant closure, however, was not related to the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused considerable collateral damage to restaurants and other retail businesses. Williams had decided he wanted to sell the business and property before the end of 2019. And a sales agreement was reached in recent weeks with a new buyer who intends to construct a new convenience store and gas station at the location, Williams said in a Facebook post.

“The new owners will take ownership of the property as of April 1,” Williams wrote.
Williams told this news outlet Sunday the new owner is is “an LLC company out of Cincinnati. That’s all the information I can give as we speak.”

“It’s been fun for last 12 years being in bar business. I’ve meet a lot of great people and will miss you all,” Williams said. “It’s been a pleasure being in business and helping people and meeting great people.”

The Double Deuce was founded by Williams and Ralph Mueller in 2009 at 17 Brandt St. in Dayton, and relocated in February 2018 to space at 5186 Brandt Pike (State Route 201) in Huber Heights.
The Huber Heights space formerly housed C’s Pizza and, much earlier, the Myung Sung Asian restaurant.

Williams has a full-time job, and his business partner, Mueller, lives in Florida, Williams said earlier this year when he confirmed he was ready to sell the business and property.
“I’m going to enjoy my extra free time and continue to work my job,” Williams said.

A pizzeria/tavern that revitalized a vacant restaurant space when it relocated from Dayton to Huber Heights two years ago is now up for sale, and its co-owner says he is looking to retire.
The Double Deuce Tavern & Family Pizzeria was founded by James Williams and Ralph Mueller in 2009 at 17 Brandt St. in Dayton, and relocated in February 2018 to space at 5186 Brandt Pike (State Route 201) in Huber Heights. The space formerly housed C's Pizza and, at one time, the Myung Sung Asian restaurant.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a turn-key business,” Williams said. The listing price of $299,000 includes the business, its contents and the property, the restaurant’s co-owner said.

The restaurant is not closing, Williams said.
“With my partner in Florida, and me working a full-time job ... we decided to try to sell it,” Williams said. “We will train the new owner of the operation.”

The 4,031-square-foot restaurant space includes a fully-equipped kitchen, including two pizza ovens, a 30-foot hood, fryers, a flat cook-top, stainless steel work tables and shelving, two ice makers, stand-up freezer, beer coolers and upright coolers as well as a walk-in cooler, Williams said.

There are two dining areas, flat-screen televisions, a billiards table, a beer tap system and a new fenced-in patio with picnic table seating. The business has a full liquor license that includes Sunday sales that can be transferred to the new owner, Williams said.

Sales have been over $500,000 each of the last two years, the Double Deuce co-owner said.
