A juvenile male has been arrested in last week’s threat at Greenon High School, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office reports. The boy will be charged with inducing panic and booked into juvenile detention in Clark County.

A sweep of Greenon High School turned up no bombs, officials said. Students had found a threat written in bathroom and alerted principal this morning.
The rest of the school day has been canceled.
UPDATE @ 11:35 a.m. (May 12)
Students are being released from Greenon High School after a threat was reported.
Buses have left the high school with students and parents may now pick up students, according to the district’s Facebook page.
“Please bring your ID with you. Students cannot be released to anyone not listed on the Emergency Medical Form,” the post read. “Following parent dismissal, student drivers will be released. The safety of our students is out highest priority and we appreciate your help today in maintaining student safety. Thank you.”
Students were released due to weather and disruption of the lunch schedule, according to the post.

Fire departments from Mad River Twp. and Hustead are on the scene, as well as the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base bomb squad.
Parents are picking up students from the school, according to a reporter on scene.
UPDATE @ 10:39 a.m. (May 12)
Greenon High School has been evacuated due to a threat.
School leaders received information from a student about a threat at about 9:30 a.m., according to Megan Anthony, spokeswoman for the district.
“We let parents know via one-call just after 10 a.m.,” she said.
The school district posted a statement on its Facebook page that says in part, “We are working with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office to investigate this report. The Sheriff’s Office has asked that no one respond to the school at this time and we are not able to release students at this time. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority at Greenon Local Schools and we will continue to take all steps necessary to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.”

Deputies responded to Greenon High School Thursday morning.
The school resource officer contacted the Clark County Sheriff’s Office around 9:42 a.m. for deputies to respond to the building.
