MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — A Kohl’s is planned for Austin Landing, marking the first large retail tenant slated for the new Interstate 75 interchange.
Plans call for the proposed 87,000-square-foot department store to be built as part of a larger commercial development that also includes the headquarters for technology company Teradata as well as a proposed hotel and another office building.
Township Administrator Greg Hanahan said he was unsure when construction of the Kohl’s will begin, but plans call for it to open next year. He didn’t know the proposed construction costs .
Township trustees on Nov. 23 approved a resolution that allowed the project to move forward, he said. Officials for RG Properties could not be reached for comment.
Kohl’s, based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., has 1,089 stores in 49 states. Kohl’s has stores in Beavercreek, Centerville, Huber Heights, Middletown, Springfield and Troy, according to the company’s website.
In September, S&S Management Inc. announced plans to build a five-story, 125-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel. That project, slated to be finished in April 2012, will include a conference center, restaurant and lounge.
