The company will build a 67,000-square-feet headquarters and research and development facility, the second phase of a three-phase project in the Lebanon Commerce Center, according to Maria Collins, the city’s economic development director.
“This is definitely a big boon to the city,” Collins said. “Mane is a company that is continuing to grow and do well... It’s very good for us.”
Mane has signed a purchase agreement with Henkle Schueler to buy 15 acres next to its property, doubling the amount of land they own in Lebanon, Collins said..
In phase three of the project, the company would construct a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, Collins said. This facility is expected to be completed by 2014.
The finished plant will employ more than 200 people, including bringing in 127 new jobs to Lebanon over the next three years, Collins said. The estimated market value of the new buildings will be $60 million, when completed.
According to an agreement the city made with Mane, construction will begin by August of this year and be completed by September 2012.
On Tuesday night, Lebanon city council unanimously agreed to a 75 percent property tax abatement for the next 10 years on Phases Two and Three of the project. The company has also received $394,000 in incentives from the state, had building permit fees waived and is receiving a 50 percent electric tax credit from the city.
Officials from Mane could not be reached for comment.
