“The response was absolutely incredible,” Ryan Tripp, owner of both Springboro’s Donut Haus and Miamisburg’s Bear Creek Donuts, told this news outlet Sunday. “I think if we hadn’t stopped taking orders on Wednesday night, we could have seen anywhere from 1,200 to 1,600 dozen ordered by Saturday morning.”

Tripp thought about running the identical promotion again this week, but instead reached a different decision, which he announced Sunday night on the Donut Haus Facebook page:
“So many of you have asked if we will start taking orders for next weekend. So here is the deal! After Saturday’s response, we have decided to reopen both stores on limited hours.”

Both the Donut Haus at 305 W. Central Ave. in Springboro and Bear Creek Donuts at 80 S. Main St. in Miamisburg will be open Thursdays and Fridays 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting this Thursday, April 16.
Businesses that sell food for carryout are exempted from the statewide stay-at-home order, which allows Ohio residents to venture out to carryout restaurants, including doughnut shops. State officials have encouraged residents to make such trips as seldom as possible.

“We have taken weeks to fully clean the stores, make needed repairs, and prepare for our return,” Tripp wrote. “We will be implementing the necessary social distancing measures and limiting how many are allowed in” at one time.
“So yes, starting Thursday, call-ahead orders will be beyond appreciated, but we will be reopening our retail side for business four days a week. Please come see us.”
