Local fire departments getting more than $400,000 from FEMA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-OH, announced that two Dayton-area fire departments are getting more than $400,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

The Trotwood Fire Department is getting $323,045 and the Lewisburg Fire Department in Preble County is getting $117,620, according to a statement released Wednesday, March 31.

“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” said Brown. “These funds ensure that firefighters in southwest Ohio have the resources they need to perform their jobs safely.”

The funds can be used for vehicle acquisition as well as operational and safety equipment updates.
