Man charged with murder a year after wife’s death in Auglaize County

A 45-year-old Lima man has been charged with murder a year after his wife was found dead in her Auglaize County home.

Erin Mulcahy, 35, was found dead in July 2017 in her home on Karen Street in Waynesfield, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said in a media release Friday.

“The investigation indicated, along with the coroners’ report, that the death of Erin Mulcahy was a homicide,” Solomon said.

Mulcahy’s husband, Brent A. Williams, was arrested Thursday on two counts of murder and one count of tampering with evidence, according to investigators.

“Every death investigation is treated as suspicious until determined as otherwise,” Solomon said.

Williams remains booked in the Auglaize County Correctional Center.
