Man in Harrison Twp. ‘Signal 99’ call indicted on weapon, domestic violence charges

A 34-year-old man arrested last month following a domestic violence call that led a Montgomery County deputy to issue a “Signal 99” for an officer in need of assistance has been indicted.

Jamal R. Ashley Sr. faces two felony charges of having weapons while under disability for a prior offense of violence and domestic violence, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released Friday.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.

Ashley reportedly was armed when deputies were called Jan. 21 to his home in the 1800 block of Palisades Drive in the Northland Village Apartments.

After he was taken into custody, deputies found a gun.

According to court records, Ashley has two prior domestic violence convictions.
