A Dayton man scheduled to go on trial for murder today pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Ralphiel Marciano Harris, 29, also pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, according to a Montgomery County Common Pleas Court representative.

Harris was indicted last year on murder and felonious assault charges in the shooting death of 60-year-old Lynn Shackelford.

However, prosecutors filed involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery charges today that replaced the initial charges.

Harris was sentenced to 20 years in prison after waiving a pre-sentencing investigation.

The manslaughter charge has a three-year firearm specification.

The charges stemmed from the Oct. 28, 2016, deadly shooting at Summit Square Apartments.

Shackelford, who ran a store out of his apartment, was shot during an attempted robbery, according to Dayton police.

He died from injuries the next day.
