“We’re in a pretty hot category right now,” said Dave Schellin, Matrix chief operating officer. “We’re trying to capitalize commercially on some good trends out there, but given the overall economy, it remains to be seen how successful we’ll be.”
Schellin said the move will be completed about mid-February.
“Our legacy customer tends to be high-end, large enterprise installations, such as hospitals and airports,” he said.
Major Ohio customers include the Cleveland Clinic and a number of area hospitals, including Kettering, Miami Valley and Christ in Cincinnati.
Miamisburg provided Matrix $25,000 in relocation funding, said Chris Fine, Miamisburg acting economic development director. The incentive will be in the form of a five-year forgivable loan.
He said Matrix will be moving into a 20,000-square-foot, newly constructed building in the 28-acre park.
“This is a good project for us, because the developer, Construction Managers of Ohio, took a lot into consideration in constructing a spec building,” Fine said. “Hopefully, this allows them to move forward with a third building.”
Matrix is moving 55 of 90 employees to its new facility. Another 35 employees work in field offices, Schellin said.
“The location is good,” he said. “Austin Center is an attractive access point for us, and we really like the building.”
