Haren’s Meat Market, which was scheduled to open within weeks, caught fire early Wednesday morning in downtown Troy.
A motorist passing by noticed the fire in the window of the shop at 502 Garfield Ave., located in the southeast quadrant of downtown. The motorist contacted authorities and fire crews quickly put out the fire, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said, adding that there were no injuries.
The business was in the process of being remodeled.
