Police will not pull you over to ask where you’re going under DeWine’s order

Under DeWine's new order, it is mandated that Ohioans only leave their homes when it is essential, but Miami County Sheriff's deputies will not be stopping people to ask where they are going.

The office asks that you follow the “common sense” exceptions and only leave the house when it is necessary.

Deputies will only intervene when it is necessary for public safety.

The Piqua Police Department has also stated that officers will not stop people to address why they are out or where they are going.

They will intervene in extreme circumstances, or instance of blatant disregard to mandates.

Both of these departments ask that Ohioans voluntarily comply with the Ohio Stay Home Order.
