The Tipp City Public Library will open bids Jan. 26 on an expansion project.
The project will include an expansion to the rear and a new north entrance at the rear of the library building on Main Street downtown. The project includes addition of a lift for handicapped access, replacing an existing ramp, and moving the library book drops inside the building instead of an outside location, said Beth Freeman, interim library director. Canal Music Fest gets OK to use park
Tipp City’s Parks Advisory Board approved the use of City Park for the annual Canal Music Fest during its Jan. 11 meeting.
This year’s festival will be held the evening of June 11 with the featured artist being Absolute Journey Tribute, a festival organizer told the board. The event is a project of the Tipp City Arts Council. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER

Local students’ artwork on display
The annual Young Masters exhibit featuring artwork of local school students continues through Feb. 14 at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center.
Art teachers from Troy Christian, St. Patrick Elementary and Troy City schools annually select work completed by students for the exhibit. The exhibit features around 350 pieces of work.
The center hours are Monday 7 p.m.to 9 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
