Miamisburg bicentennial: CMA inductee, OSU alumni band part of weeklong party

Miamisburg is finalizing the schedule of events for a weeklong celebration next month of its bicentennial.

The eight days of events will include family activities and run from June 16-24, most of them occurring downtown and at Riverfront Park. Among the highlights of daily events for the 200th birthday celebration include:

June 16

11 a.m.-Parade

2 p.m.-The Ohio State Alumni Band

4-Opening of Sesquicentennial Time Capsule

June 17

10 a.m.-Drums on the Miami at Beachler Field (closes 6 p.m.)

Noon-Heritage Village open until 4 p.m.

9 p.m.-B-Caged

Noon-Great Lakes Timber Show; Traditional Arts & Crafts Demonstrations; Heritage Village Opens with arts & crafts demonstrations, one room school house experience, carriage ride, petting zoo and promenade.
