The driver, a woman believed to be in her 60s, told police the brakes failed, the lieutenant said.
She apparently pulled out of the driveway, made a U-turn, hit a parked truck in the cul-de-sac and slammed into the garage of her home about 8 p.m., Moore said.
Neither she nor her husband, who was in the house, was injured, Moore said.
The house is uninhabitable, the lieutenant said, and the residents are having to find another place to stay.
