Motorists beware: Lane shift planned on I-70 east of Clark County tonight

Two lanes on Interstate-70 East will shift back to the eastbound side tonight, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The ODOT project to reconstruct I-70 in Madison County between US 42 and the Franklin County line is almost half way done.

I-70 will remain two lanes in both directions for two - three weeks and three lanes in both directions are expected to be open for Thanksgiving through the winter, a press release from ODOT said.

Work will resume on the westbound lanes next spring.

The I-70 reconstruction project began in September 2018 and is expected to be completed in October 2020.

Crews are replacing seven miles of pavement, widening inside shoulders, installing new drainage, signage, bridge work, guardrails, and cable barriers.
