Council applicants Amy Hopkins, Becky McKenzie and Kathy Wright were interviewed Aug. 20.

Mayor Ethan Reynolds called the meeting around 3:40 p.m. He did so by email to members and the media, and by having the clerk call council members, which he said was in accordance with the city charter.

Normally meetings require 24 hours advance notice in accordance with Ohio Sunshine Laws. However, a spokesman from the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office said the emergency meeting is a municipal issue.
