NEW DETAILS: Auto mall move near Dayton Mall focus of Miamisburg rezoning

Land use changes to allow one of the area’s largest automobile malls to move across Interstate 75 to a larger site in Miamisburg is set to go before the city this week.

A rezoning request for the Matt Castrucci group of dealerships to relocate from Mall Park Drive to Byers Road involves about 38 acres near the Lyons Road intersection, Miamisburg records show.

The dealership plans to move from its 17-acre site - which includes Honda, Kia, Mazda and Nissan dealerships - north of the Dayton Mall to a location west of it.

The Byers move by Castrucci – which employs about 180 at its current site – would not include Mazda, a brand the business plans to drop, city officials have said.

Plans call for the construction of five buildings – four dealerships and a body shop - on the site’s northern 30 acres with 7.4 acres on the south end remaining vacant, city records show.

The rezoning request for two parcels at 490 Byers Road call for a change from highway service and office service to special development district, city records show.

The request is set to go before Miamisburg City Council Tuesday night. It would then go to the planning commission before returning to council, city officials have said.
