Mazda is expected to be dropped from the Matt Castrucci group of dealerships when the Miamisburg business moves its auto mall to a larger site across Interstate 75.

Initial plans submitted for the proposed move do not include Mazda and city officials say they do not expect Castrucci to maintain the brand with the transition from 17-acre Mall Park Drive site to Byers Road.

“The plan is to drop Mazda,” Miamisburg City Planner Ryan Homsi said. “They’re not bringing them over here.”

Plans for the 30-acre development near Lyons Road show locations for Honda, Nissan, Kia, used vehicles and a body shop.

Attempts to reach Castrucci officials about the proposed move were unsuccessful.

The plans for Nissan are not solidified at the proposed site, Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine said.

But Castrucci is “pretty comfortable that they will” remain, Fine said.

Approvals are needed when dealerships move, he said, and Castrucci hasn’t “gotten to that agreement with Nissan” yet.
