New Mexican restaurant to open across from Wright State

A new Mexican food restaurant will open this month across from Wright State University in Beavercreek.

The owners of Don Patron Mexican Grill expect to open the new restaurant around June 14 in the University Shoppes, 2632 Colonel Glenn Hwy.

The restaurant will serve Mexican-style food from old family recipes and have a full-service bar, according to co-owner Everardo Ascencio.

The restaurant is part of a chain that includes six in Northern Ohio and two in the Pittsburgh, Penn. area, Ascencio said.

“We will be focused on value for our customers. It’s a family atmosphere in the restaurant,”Ascencio said.

Don Patron Mexican Grill will employ around 20 and have seating for 140 customers.

The restaurant is located between the Flying Pizza and FirstWatch.

Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
