New ‘Pancho’s Place’ restaurant now open in Huber Heights

A new restaurant that offers both Mexican and American-themed dishes with an emphasis on seafood is now open in Huber Heights.

Pancho’s Place, located in a building at at 4480 Powell Road that previously housed Sweet Home Family Restaurant, opened its doors Tuesday, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The space had been vacant since Sweet Home Family restaurant shut down in the spring of 2018.

The menu uses seafood in a variety of preparations. Shrimp, for example, is served in a shrimp cocktail, shrimp salad or as breaded shrimp, and can also be ordered in enchiladas, quesadillas and tacos. Garlic Shrimp and “Devil Style  Shrimp,” which is sauteed with diablo sauce with onions, tomatoes and cilantro and served with rice, beans, salad and salsa, also are available.

Huber Heights Assistant City Manager Scott Falkowski told this news outlet in August that Pancho’s Place “will be a great addition in the southern end of the city. The addition of dining options continues to expand in this area, and we look forward to the growth and success of this new business.”

The city has seen a surge of restaurant activity. Just this week, Huber Heights City Council approved two new restaurant projects within a block of each other on Old Troy Pike near I-70, where Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Starbucks are gearing up to open new locations in 2020.

A new restaurant is coming soon to 4480 Powell Road in Huber Heights, in the space that previously housed Sweet Home Family Restaurant until that eatery shut down last year.

Pancho’s Place will offer authentic Mexican dishes, including several seafood options, and it will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a spokeswoman for the restaurant’s owners told this news outlet. The new restaurant will open in about a month, the spokeswoman said.

Pancho’s Place “has not finalized all of their permits with us,” Huber Heights Assistant City Manager Scott Falkowski said.

When it does open, Pancho’s Place “will be a great addition in the southern end of the city,” Falkowski said. “The addition of dining options continues to expand in this area, and we look forward to the growth and success of this new business.”
