New track at Coy Middle School

The School Board has approved a $738,146 contract for construction of a new track at Coy Middle School, $80,000 less than the architect’s construction estimate.

Superintendent Bill McGlothlin told the board Aug. 29 that the original estimate for the job had been $818,000. “The track will be ready for the spring track season,” he said.

Bilbrey Construction of Dayton was the lowest responsible bidder. Money for the project is coming from an $84 million bond issue approved by the voters in 2008 to build Coy Middle School and Trebein Elementary School, and renovate the remaining eight school buildings. DOUG PAGE
