Meantime, police have towed the car from the crash scene, in the grass median between I-75 North and South across from Lexis Nexis in Miami Twp.

We're also hearing the search for the suspect extends as far east and north as state Route 741 (Springboro Pike) toward the Hunter's Chase apartments on Steeplechase Drive in Miamisburg.

INITIAL REPORT

Law enforcement from several area jurisdictions have partially shut down I-75 North as they search near Lexis Nexis for a man who police pursued until he crashed in the grass median along the interstate near the data research company in Miami Twp.

The man ran from a silver Pontiac after crashing in the median just after 6:30 p.m. A K-9 unit has been called to the scene.

What prompted the pursuit -- which included the man at one point driving south in the northbound lanes on I-75 -- is not clear.

The suspect is believed to be wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.

News Center 7 picked up the pursuit when it was on Mad River Road, headed toward state Routes 725 and 741. From there, the man went onto the interstate in the wrong direction before turning around to head north on the interstate until the crash.

Police from Springboro, Miamisburg, Miami Twp. and Washington Twp. are involved in the manhunt.
