Oakwood band members honored for achievements

OAKWOOD — The Oakwood Band Parents Association recently recognized seniors and students for their achievements during the past year at their annual Spring Band Concert.

Sarah Wilhoit received the Frederick R. Walker Award for exemplifying the spirit of community service. Ellen Viereckl received the national John Philip Sousa Award, an honor for which she was selected by her fellow band members. Cody Officer was awarded the Semper Fidelis Award for high school musicians from the United States Marine Corps.
