Old Walmart property sold

An Illinois company recently purchased the old Walmart property at 5331 Salem Avenue, according to records filed in the Montgomery County Auditor’s office.

Commercial Developers LLC. in Oak Brook, IL bought the Salem Avenue address from another Illinois company called Tramlaw, LLC in Chicago for $250,000 in April.

It is unclear what Commercial Developers plan to do with the property, which has been vacant since the store closed in 2007.

Carl Daugherty, Trotwood’s Planning and Zoning director, said he spoke to a representative of the Republic Bank of Chicago about the property. That bank representative told him that the bank had taken the property back from the previous owner who had defaulted on the loan. KELLI WYNN
