"I am sorry. Yes, we are going out of business," the owners of the Greek Isle Deli at 5524 Airway Road in the Page Manor Shopping Center wrote in a Facebook post in which they announced the restaurant's furnishings and equipment are for sale.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of sympathy and support from customers for the restaurant that had operated at its Page Manor location for 17 years. The deli had moved there from a strip center across from Wright State University in 2003, and it has been in existence under that name since at least 1990.

“I am so sad to hear this,” one commenter wrote. “I have had a lot of gyros in my day, being from a Greek family, and NEVER had one as good as Greek Isle Deli made!”

Another commenter posted, “Your restaurant is the one that turned me on to Greek food. I started coming to your restaurant when I was in college and your restaurant was located across from Wright State. Your restaurant is the only place I can get that wonderful Greek potato salad. Sigh... .”

Some special orders for items such as baklava, cookies, cakes, hummus, vegetable/cheese trays and potato salad may be available, the owners told its Facebook followers. For details, email information@greekisledeli.com.
